Ewa Rybska

E W A R Y B S K A, performer and curator, born in 1958. Lives in UK since May 2006. education: College of Art and Design, Minsk Mazowiecki, Poland. Since 1994 has been working as a curator of the artistic program at the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art. She created 260 exhibitions during 1994 – 2006. The most important was Biennale of the Art of Polish Young Artists. Co-organizer of the International Performance Art Festival „Castle of Imagination” Poland, 1993 - 2005. Rybska has been working at the Baltic Gallery of Contemporary Art in Slupsk / Poland (1989 – 2006). Since 1997 she started to be a performer and an artist working together with Wladyslaw Kazmierczak. Over 150 performances in Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Belarus, Ireland, Slovenia, Mexico, Indonesia, Canada, Korea, France, USA, Israel, Finland, Estonia, Spain, Great Britain, Sweden, China and Poland (21).

• Co-organiser of the International Performance Art Festival „Castle of Imagination” in Bytow, Ustka, Slupsk, Sopot, Gdansk, Zielona Gora, Bielsko Baiala, Poland, 1993 - 2001.

• Co-organiser of „Irish Days” - Polish / Irish seminary, 1993-1998.

• The main interest on a multi-media visual art. Presentation of young talented artists.

• Also active in the initiation / administration of international artist lead projects, such as exchange exhibitions, performance festivals and seminary, and arranging exhibitions / visits for international artists to Poland.

• A founding member of the Society of the Friends of Contemporary Art in Slupsk.

• Member of Board of the Society of the Friends of Contemporary Art in Slupsk (1994 – 2006)

• Since 1997 started with performance art as an artist together with Wladyslaw Kazmierczak. Over 150 performances in Slovakia, Italy, Germany, Czech Republic, Belarus, Ireland, Slovenia, Mexico, Indonesia, Canada, Korea, France, USA, Israel, Finland, Estonia, Spain, Great Britain, Sweden and Poland (20).
